From Xmm

The list below should contain quick summaries of requests only (no bug reports!)- please include explanatory notes or steps to reproduce on a seperate page linked from this one, so that this page doesn't get unmanagably long. The feature requests should be well thought-out and easy to understand. Please consider, if your wish really makes sense and is of use not only for you but also for as much users as possible. The order of requests is based entirely on when they where added to the list - there is no attempt at ranking 'importance' and wishes on the list might not be picked up by Alessio.

Still Missing from xMM 4.8

• In Thumbnails window thumbnails should be labeled with the movie title
• Player's Manager

xMM - Data Fields

• Clear separation of "film data" from "media data". Support for multiple media for one film without duplicating of film data
• wish list of wanted movies within the database (graduation: maybe/ wanted/ most wanted etc.).(DONE PARTIALLY in XMM 5.2.6.0)
• wanted movies in extra tab/filter, no MovieID
• data field: "Title Sort" to able to sort movies for example without "A", "The" etc.
• data field tab to manage planned recordings with his digital receiver (with an interface with tv programm software).
• better handling of "multi entry fields" like the "subtitles" field: handling like the skript manager with a source list and a target list where you can move the several possible data entries
• pulldown menus (like STATUS) should save new values automatically
• memorable quotes with possibility to store sound files
• "Links" field, to store a list of website links
• Field "Free time": automatic calculation of free time on medium (VHS + DVD)
• better handling of DVD boxsets: group movies as boxsets; ox Sets as "containers" that contain multiple movie items, a kind of grouping level ABOVE the movie level (DONE PARTIALLY in XMM 6.3.1.0)
• better multi-disc support: movies/boxsets with more than one disc; more than one movie on one disc
• b&w/colour field: extension for movies that are b&w and coloured, b&w-movies that were colorized or 3D-Movies
• external editor for editing data fields like plot etc.

xMM - TV-Shows

• series: more fields (like for movies)
• there should be a unique way how starring info is handeled within the database, which means as it is realized with movies (grid)--> "Starring" tab
• loan episodes function like movies (+ the ability to add all episodes with the same CatalogNo)
• function "Show all series/episodes of this actor" in Actors-Database
• option of viewing series entries sorted in a tree structure in the multiple changes window
• the seen icon from the mymovies tab should also be displayed in the grid in myseries
• By Importing tv-series actors should be added to actors database
• Actors and series/episodes should be "linked"
• series banners
• add tv series from a DVD collection of divx/xvid files
• SeriesID renumbering
• QuickEdit View(DONE in XMM 6.0.7.0)
• "loaned to" box to the tv series like the one for the movies
• Save column selections in TV shows 9 (DONE in XMM ??)
• translate the air date and premiere date to the internal database date format when reading TV Shows with the scripts

• right click actors in the "cast" tab to add them to the database
• Possibility to import files containing two episodes (double features, pilots, ...). Files named like <TVShowTitle>.1x01x02... would mean episode 1 and two of season 1 are in the same file.
• Proper sorting possibility of tv episodes (sorting by column season and episode at the same time)

xMM - Movie File Recognition + Managment

• better svcd recognition: bitrate, correct A.bitrate, movie length, MB
• recognition of vob-files
• ratDVD support
• calculating and adding the screen ratio, when scanning the file(s) resolution
• calculating the quality of the video in a percentage (like 'AVICodec' program)
• manage movie files from within XMM
• background of the files should change to red if the desination file can't be validated, and green if it can.
• supporting subtext (import + identification): Subtexts (subtexts) are extra files (normally ended with crt, sub or idx) that by using a plugin to your film player overlays the movie with the subs.
• file-assign option to a movie (for example a .nfo-file)
• Rescanning Movie Parameters (mass files add!) without losing or duplicating the information that are already entered about these video files in the database
• automatically read out codec information on multiple files, which then are automatically linked to the correct entries
• rename movie files: possibility to take the tags from the folder names
• recognition of more than one audio stream
• possibility to change the File Name and/or directory of a movie file/several movie files
• XMM should have an option to use folder names as movie name and include all videofiles inside that folder (including subfolders contents) for import.
• an option to add TAGs to avi files (like title, genre, director, actors)
• function to monitor certain directories for new video files and automatically import these files when XMM is started

xMM - Import

• dvd profiler import: status bar during import, more fields e.g. all the dvd related stuff should be imported
• import of .mdb databases
• Select your preferred language for scripts and have eMM hide or delete all other languages in the scripts window or folder
• importing actors: problem that a given name will have more than one hit in the actor selection list --> system where xMM will pass the movie title, where a specific actor is sourced from, to the searching criteria.
• mass file add: analize the files to know if a movie was 2 or more files or has subtitle files
• mass import: automatically import a cover for each imported movie, as long as the cover file has the same name as the imported movie
• Mass file add: option to dissable scanning subdirectories.
• DVD insert: automatic recognition of the main IFO
• mass CD/DVD add function which iterates into the disk's sub-directories
• mass add function: support of ALL extensions
• Import automation
• save import profile
• In the treeview for the actors start of internet-import without having to first go in edit-modus of the actor (same way like movies would be better)
• when importing movies: possibility to to choose which actors are taken to the database
• When a script has no matches or no acceptable matches, there should be a way to go back and choose another script to try in this case

xMM - Cover Manager

• if gif-files were imported, xMM renames them to jpg. xMM should keep the original extension.
• re-order and rename all pictures
• extended label printing: CD-Label (Jewel Case/Slim Case), VHS (Cover/Front/Back/Video Label) and DVD (Front/ Back/Booklet (Amaray)/ Booklet (Super Jewel Box)/Inlay Card (Amaray)/DVD Label)
• improvement of cover sequence managment: scroll bar instead of the navigation arrows, additional sort options, additional folder operations (create, copy, move, rename)
• rudimetray image editing like auto rotate, select/de-select stretching ....
• covers should be connected with MovieID and not with movie name (DONE, Naming by filename MASK)
• more options for filename mask
• quickly import already downloaded covers
• actors photo manager (DONE in XMM 5.6.2.0)
• direct acquisition of cover images or photos from a TWAIN and WIA-compatible scanner
• changing the picture order directly in the EDIT window
• series: function for add a cover to much episodes at once
• possibility to copy covers from the cover's manager into the clipboard and vice versa
• Rename all covers to the currently selected cover filemask setting
• button forward and backward to navigate among the movies
• Activate click of the mouse to open the cover with the irfanview
